GAMES WORKSHOP - IMPERIAL GUARD
When I decided to add another Veteran Squad to my Imperial Guard army I knew I wanted to include Sgt. Harker. He would ultimately dictate the theme for the squad. Because Sgt. Harker gives his squad the Catachan Devils rule (Stealth & Infiltrate), I wanted to show that with heavy camouflage and ghillie suits. In addition Sgt. Harker is outfitted with a Heavy Bolter giving him a range of 36". By outfitting 3 squad members with Sniper Rifles and joining two to field a Lascannon this squad can bring serious hurt on anything within 24".

Aside from Sgt. Harker I wanted the Snipers to be the stars of this squad. The ghillie suits were created using cheese cloth soaked in white modeling glue and arranged in place using a paint brush.
The sniper rifles are Lasguns converted using tube styrene.

I think the Vox Caster operator should look the part. For this model I replaced the antena from the standard Catachan Vox Caster with one made from electric guitar string. I also cut an arm at the elbow, and cleaned up the joint with Apoxie Sculpt, so that he could be holding his earpiece. |  |
